why I keep rewriting things in Rust

Started FlashDB as a way to actually understand what Redis does under the hood instead of just calling SET and GET. Turns out re-implementing something forces you to care about the boring parts — key expiration precision, connection handling at 100+ concurrent clients, the exact wire protocol. I like that Rust makes you deal with all of it upfront instead of finding out in prod.
